Lyrics - There'll Be a Song
I wrote this to encourage my partner Tony to have a go at writing a song. He would like to be able to, he said, but what could he write that was different from what had already been said by others? And how could he be sure his tune was original? Many people have the same misgivings. Even if you have written songs before you can go through dry patches. I hope this will encourage all songwriters and potential songwriters, including myself!

Rahel Guzelian There'll Be a Song

Sure as the beating of your heart
there'll be a song on your lips;
listen to it growing,
feed it with your love,
play it till it's living,
till it begins to dance,
sing the world its presence,
take the future's chance.

You may think they've heard it all before
and nothing you can say will touch a heart,
but your words can spin a magic
with threads of the life you've known
and your tune can weave those colours into rainbows.

Sure as the beating of your heart...

If your pain runs deep,
leave time for it to rise;
a song may not blossom
till you've had time to dry your eyes,
but when the time is ready
your song will take control
and blend a yarn unique to you
in the colours of your soul.

Sure as the beating of your heart...

Sure as the beating of your heart
there'll be a song on your lips.
